The Fairborn Fly Zone cheer challenge is a competition among groups to create the most enthusiastic and supportive "Cheer Zone" for runners during the Air Force Marathon. Participants are encouraged to decorate their zones with themes, costumes, and signs, and may even provide entertainment like music or games, all with the goal of motivating the runners and creating a positive atmosphere. After the race, runners vote on the best cheer zones, and the first place is rewarded with a $250 financial donation to a 501(c)(3) organization of their choosing. Registration starts July 7th and will close August 29th. There is no registration fee.
The primary goal is to provide a boost to runners as they navigate the marathon course, offering encouragement, positive energy, and showcasing a sense of community from Fairborn! Runners' votes are crucial in determining the winners, highlighting the importance of the cheer zones in enhancing their overall race experience. More details to come!
